What is Your E-mail Response Time?

email

EmptyEmail Everyone gets e-mail and responds to it. The question is this: do you and your team have an agreed upon response time to e-mail?

For some, especially in operations, it may be important to respond to e-mail hourly. For others, responding within 24-hours may be perfectly appropriate.

The response time agreement is important for two reasons: it affects how often you need to check your e-mail, and, it affects your team’s perception of your responsiveness.

Ask the response time question at your next team meeting. And see how different the viewpoints are for response time.
