30 Career Management Tips — Resumes don’t lie

FireThis month, I’m providing a career management tip-a-day (along with other posts) to help you trigger your own career management activities.

Today’s tip: Resumes don’t lie.

This one is really simple: you’ve all read stories about people who have claimed stuff on their resumes or their credentials that, in the end, turned out to be false. And it cost them their job, their career, and totally changed their personal brand.

So don’t put stuff on your resume or credentials that isn’t true.

It’s not worth crashing and burning.
