30 Career Management Tips — Have a mentor

who is your mentor? This month, I’m providing a career management tip-a-day (along with other posts) to help you trigger your own career management activities.

Today’s tip: Have a mentor.

One of the hardest things in your corporate life is to work without a being able to talk to a friend about your work. Not a friend who can talk through what is going on day to day at work, although that will happen. Instead, someone who can see the big picture — where you fit into work the best, what types of work are right for you, and who can see trends in the company where you work.

It is hard to find a strategic person who has your best interests at heart – a mentor.

But a mentor is a great person to have. I hope you find one.
