		<description>I agree, Mike. I&#039;m thinking of Timothy Johnson&#039;s post on why he calls himself Timothy online as a differentiator to the other Tim Johnson&#039;s out there (though I can&#039;t remember the exact post on his site, Carpe Factum).

It is fortunate that my name is spelled only with one &quot;t&quot; in Scot. I tried to get Scot.com, Herrick.com and also tried to get ScottHerrick.com so that I could forward misspellings to the &quot;right&quot; site -- but all were taken.

If you can&#039;t get a domain with your own name, try at least to get a name that can be associated with your personal brand. Brands are how we differentiate ourselves. A good brand name that represents your strongest attributes would be a good second choice.</description>
